U.S. gymnast Simone Biles made history last Thursday at the 2018 U.S. Women’s World Team Selection Camp in Sarasota, Florida. She completed a vault that no one has ever done before.
According to gymnastic lingo, it was a “Yurchenko with a half turn on with a stretched salto forward with two turns.” Somebody else described it as a “back handspring-half twist” onto the vault table . . . and then a “front double full” off of it.
No matter how you explain it, she was the first to nail it . . . and if she does it at the World Championships in Qatar, they’ll probably start calling it “The Biles.”
