Niall Horan’s Album Debuts at #1, and That Causes One Direction to Tie a Beatles Record

NIALL HORAN has the #1 album in America. His debut solo album “Flicker” moved 152,000 copies in its first week . . . and that makes him the THIRD former member of ONE DIRECTION to go #1 with their solo debut.

Harry Styles’ self-titled album debuted at #1 earlier this year, and Zayn did it last year with his album “Mind of Mine”. Harry’s album sold the most with 230,000 in sales the first week. Zayn’s album sold 157,000 . . . just 5,000 more than Niall.

That ties them with THE BEATLES as the only group to have THREE former members go #1 solo. George Harrison had two #1 albums, John Lennon had three, and Paul McCartney had six, including the ones he did with his band Wings. As a GROUP, the Beatles had 19 #1 albums. One Direction had four.
