TAYLOR SWIFT is going on trial later this month. If you haven’t heard, a former radio DJ is suing her for defamation, after she claimed he grabbed her backside during a meet-and-greet back in 2013.
He lost his job . . . but Taylor insists it happened, and she’s filed a countersuit for sexual harassment.
In any event, jury selection is happening now . . . and naturally, the lawyers opposing Taylor are trying to keep her biggest fans from stacking the jury. In an effort to expose their fandom, they have a questionnairefor prospective jurors.
It includes stuff like:
Have you listened to Taylor Swift on the radio?
Have you watched one of Taylor’s videos?
Have you read a blog about her?
Have you bought a Taylor Swift album?
Have you “intentionally listened to Taylor through an online service”?
Have you gone to one of her concerts?
Taylor was actually in the courtroom in Denver yesterday to witness the jury selection. The trial will probably take a little over a week, and she IS expected to take the witness stand. If she wins her countersuit, she’ll donate the money to charity.
After KIM KARDASHIAN released those phone conversations between KANYE WEST and TAYLOR SWIFT, it seemed like most people took Kim and Kanye’s side in the feud over his song “Famous”.
The popular opinion was that the videos proved Taylor LIED, even though there’s no audio showing that Taylor knew about the lyric, “I made that [B-word] famous” . . . which is what she’s always claimed she was bothered by.
Of those polled, 75% were hip to the feud, which is incredible because they aren’t Buzzfeed readers, they’re just random people. On top of that, 38% were at least 55 years old, and 21% of them were over 65. So, like, grandparents.
So who wins? Taylor Swift. She got 34% of the vote, compared with 8% for Kim and Kanye. If there’s a saving grace here, it’s that more than half of voters apparently don’t care. 58% either had no opinion, or weren’t ready to make an official endorsement.
As for overall impressions, 55% of the people felt favorably about Taylor. Kayne only had a 15% favorable rating, and Kim had 16%.
If you were in the crowd watching Taylor Swift at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Friday night, you were probably just as shocked as everyone else to see the world champion U.S. women’s soccer team onstage!
As part of her “1989 World Tour,” T-Swift brought the team out onstage to help her perform “Style.” Four of the women’s players hail from the Garden State. And the ladies didn’t come onstage empty handed: they had their championship trophy in tow and held it in the air as the crowd below went nuts.
Also in the building for the show were a few of Taylor’s famous friends and “Bad Blood” video co-stars including Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge. Supermodel Heidi Klum also jumped onstage and The Weeknd came out to perform his current single, “Can’t Feel My Face.” Swift’s tour wraps December 12th in Melbourne, Australia.
