How Much Money Would It Take to Live the Rest of Your Life Stress-Free?

How Much Money Would It Take to Live the Rest of Your Life Stress-Free?

Pretend you just hit the lottery for a million bucks. Would that be enough to live the rest of your life basically stress-free?

According to a new survey in Australia, most people DON’T think winning nearly a million dollars would cover it. (We’ve converted the results to American dollars, so if they sound like arbitrary amounts, that’s why . . .)

Only 24% said an $800,000 jackpot would be enough to totally change their life. (In Australian dollars, that’s $1 million.)

17% said they’d need more like $6 million . . . and 30% would need about $8 million to live the rest of their life and not worry about money anymore.

33% said the best thing about winning a huge jackpot would be getting out of debt, and being financially secure.

22% said being able to help friends and family would be the best part.

14% said it would be having the freedom to do whatever they wanted.

A 19-Year-Old Won $500,000 in the Lottery, and Gave It to His Parents

This isn’t what most 19-year-olds would do in this situation. But hey, maybe your kids appreciate you more than you realize . . .

A 19-year-old kid in Michigan recently bought a $10 lottery ticket at a gas station near Lansing . . . and hit the jackpot for HALF-A-MILLION BUCKS.

And believe it or not, he DOESN’T want to blow it all on limos and jet skis.

Instead, he’s planning to invest about $5,000 of it . . . and says he’s giving the rest of the money to his PARENTS.

He wants to remain anonymous, so his name hasn’t been released. But he says the money will take a huge weight off their shoulders. And they deserve it for everything they’ve done for him growing up.

The Key to a Happy Marriage Is . . . When the Guy Likes His In-Laws

The Key to a Happy Marriage Is . . . When the Guy Likes His In-Laws

Are you wondering if your boyfriend is marriage material? Here’s a hint: If he’s ever said, “Wow, I sure do hate your mom” . . . then no, he’s not.

A new study out of the University of Michigan just found that married couples are happier if the guy has a good relationship with his wife’s parents. It’s much less important for the woman to get along with her husband’s parents.

The researchers think it’s because an adult woman tends to be closer to her parents than a man, so when her husband likes them, that eliminates a potentially huge source of stress and conflict.

Scientists Have Figured Out Why Drinking Coffee Makes You Live Longer

Scientists Have Figured Out Why Drinking Coffee Makes You Live Longer

There have been several studies that have found people who drink coffee live longer . . . but none of them quite figured out WHY.

Some scientists at Stanford University just wrapped up a study on the link between coffee and longevity . . . and they think they’ve finally got the answer.

As we get older, one of the biggest things that affects our health is inflammation. It brings on the effects of aging, it hurts our overall health, and it can lead to things like Alzheimer’s, heart attacks, and hypertension.

But the chemical compounds in coffee help protect against inflammation . . . so if you drink a few cups a day, it really can make a huge difference in your health, especially as you get older.

Women Are Way More Likely to Use the F-Word and S-Word Than Men

Here’s another sign that we’re making some real progress in gender equality: Women’s VOCABULARY is now filthier than men’s.

A new study found women are slightly more likely to use the F-word than men. Back in 1990, men used it about eight times more often than women . . . so this is a huge shift.

The study also found women are 10 TIMES more likely to use the S-word than men. This is definitely the biggest sign of women’s progress that will happen today.
