Scientists Have Figured Out Why Drinking Coffee Makes You Live Longer

There have been several studies that have found people who drink coffee live longer . . . but none of them quite figured out WHY.

Some scientists at Stanford University just wrapped up a study on the link between coffee and longevity . . . and they think they’ve finally got the answer.

As we get older, one of the biggest things that affects our health is inflammation. It brings on the effects of aging, it hurts our overall health, and it can lead to things like Alzheimer’s, heart attacks, and hypertension.

But the chemical compounds in coffee help protect against inflammation . . . so if you drink a few cups a day, it really can make a huge difference in your health, especially as you get older.

SELENA GOMEZ is putting herself on hiatus, so she can take some time to “focus on her health and happiness.”

She says, quote, “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks, and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”

Now, I know what you’re thinking . . . could this be a COVER for something else that’s going on behind the scenes? Well, “People” magazine doesn’t think so.

A source says, quote, “[It’s] absolutely not related to alcohol or substance abuse, [she just] hadn’t felt like herself over the last couple of months.”

Selena didn’t say how long her break will be . . . but supposedly, she’s cleared her calendar for the rest of the year. She also took a break back in 2013, and secretly underwent chemotherapy as part of her lupus treatment.

If drinking one cup of coffee every day is good for your health, then the 15 cups I drink should turn me into Superman . . . right?

A new study out of England found yet ANOTHER big health benefit of coffee.

Researchers found that people who drink even ONE cup of coffee a day are 20% less likely to die after a heart attack than people who don’t ever drink it.

And the more coffee you drink, the better your chances are of surviving.

This is just the latest study that found coffee has serious health benefits. Other recent ones have found it helps fight liver cancer, heart disease, and Parkinson’s.

Well you can finally stop lying to your dentist about flossing.

The Associated Press just looked at the research on the benefits of flossing, and they got the Department of Health and Human Services to admit, quote, “The effectiveness of flossing has never been researched, as required.”

There have been plenty of studies on flossing, but none of them have definitively found that it helps you get rid of plaque or prevents gum disease. The AP looked into 25 of the biggest studies and found all of them were unreliable.

So why has the government been recommending that we all floss every day for almost four decades?

A dentist from the National Institutes of Health summed it up. Quote, “It’s low risk, low cost. We know there’s a possibility that it works, so we feel comfortable telling people to go ahead and do it.”

That’s probably true, except for one thing: Floss is a $2 BILLION market around the world, and half of that comes from the United States.
